ABOUT OUR SIG SAUER P226 GUN CLEANING MAT

Every handgun needs maintenance, and that includes your Sig Sauer P226. Our premium vulcanized rubber gun cleaning mats are both functional and durable. Featuring a no-slip surface that protects both your gun and what's beneath it, our mats are also resistant to fading and wear from gun oils and solvents. That's because we use a dye sublimation printing method to ingrain the images deeply in each mat.

PROTECT THE FINISH OF YOUR SIG SAUER P226

Your Sig Sauer P226 deserves to be protected. So does your work surface. Our gun cleaning mat can protect your Sig Sauer P226 from scratches and other damage that might be caused by the work surface.

KEEP YOUR WORK AREA SPOTLESS WITH OUR GUN MATS

Another advantage of our gun mats is that they keep the work surface free of damage caused by the gun itself, but also by solvents and oils. Cleaning guns can be messy business, and some of the substances involved can damage furniture. With our gun mats, you never have to worry about that.

BACKGROUND OF THE SIG SAUER P226

Designed for entry in the XM9 Service Pistol Trials for the US Army in 1984, the Sig P226 only lost to the Beretta 93F because it came in at a lower package price. The pistol would go on to become the choice of the Navy SEALs and remains popular with law enforcement agencies to this day. Available in 9x19, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, and .22 LR, the pistol owes a lot to the design of the P220. The P220 uses a single-stack magazine, while the P226 was designed for double-stack 9mm magazines in accordance with the XM9 specifications. This "wonder-nine" of the 1980s would later give rise to the P228 and P229, down-sized versions of this full-sized service weapon.
